Family Heirlooms

The majority of my clients are holding on to something that a deceased loved one has left behind. A jewelry box, china, letters, clothes, etc. If you feel overwhelmed with the amount of stuff you are holding on to, here is some advice:

What to do with family heirlooms

1. Put all heirlooms in one area so you know how much you have been storing
2. Pick 5 things to keep.
3. Ask family members if they would like anything leftover
4. Donate or sell the rest
5. Realize this is just STUFF. Memories are what keep. You should not keep stuff just because you feel guilty giving it away. A loved one would not want you to feel guilt. Release and let go.

If this seems overwhelming to you, High Tide Organizing can help you!
